Eric Tyson explains things as a parent would to his child. Keeps it simple, very informative and interesting. I cannot believe how much fun I get when I read this book. Highly recommend specially if you think you know little to nothing about finances.

About the Author
Michael J. Palmiotto, PhD, is Professor of Criminal Justice at Wichita State University. He has a master's degree from John Jay College (CUNY) and a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Palmiotto has published ten books and numerous book chapters and research articles on policing and criminal justice. He has also lectured internationally.

N. Prabha Unnithan, PhD is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center for the Study of Crime and Justice at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. He edits the Social Science Journal and recently co-authored Guns, Violence and Criminal Behavior (Boulder, CO: Lynne Rienner Publishing). He has published numerous book chapters and research articles and has lectured internationally on a wide variety of criminal justice and policing topics.

I have been waiting for a great behind the scenes Blu ray, book, Something on this incredible movie for ever. Nothing. Then, I saw this! Cool I thought. No... It's about 10 pages long, he talks about shooting one or two scenes. What a dissipointment !

Just too slow

I like a clean book, I like historical, I don't require a hot romance. Yes...I like reading about faith in action. But come 'on--there has got to be some degree of excitement, adventure. The book had several possibilities, but the author failed to infuse the level of emotion necessary to make the read enjoyable. I was bored and the read was forced after about the first one third.

An unexpected delight

I hesitated to get this book, as I don't normally read historical fiction. After a moment or two of indecision, I finally downloaded it, and I was pleased as punch when I read it.

Emma is a woman of faith who runs her own boardinghouse. She lives there with her widowed mother-in-law, a reverend, a runaway widow, and two helpers (one of them is more clumsy than I am). Through her trials and tribulations, she always found the time to pray and seek God's will.

This was a good read, and I can't understand the negative reviews. I know that there were some issues with a reviewer who pointed out that Emma was carrying bags, but they weren't invented during the time period, and also about the slow pace of the book; however, the book was very enjoyable despite the issues other reviewers pointed out. Yes, it was a slow pace, but I did enjoy reading this book. It was relaxing to me, and I wasn't all hyped up or sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next twist in the story.

If you want something to read that is a change of pace, and will help you to just relax, then I suggest you get this book. Don't be put off by the negative reviewers; everything doesn't have to be full of twists and turns or a nail-bitter for an enjoyable read.

A Hearth in Candlewood is book three in the Candlewood series by Della Parr.

Candlewood is a small town in New York that handles tourists. Emma Garrett has a small bed and breakfast called Hill House Inn. She had purchased it and refurnished it making it into a wonderful place. However, she was a pushover for people in need so had several people living there who were not paying guests. In spite of this, she makes a tolerable living. If things change, she might do better.
When Widow Leonard shows up at Hill House Inn, things begin to change. Widow Leonard was, according to her husband’s will, live between the houses of her two boys. However, the boys are feuding over a piece of land between their properties which they jointly own and it makes it difficult for their mother. So, she moves out! She shows up at Hill House Inn for a place to stay; but fully intends to pay her own way with no help from her sons. Even though Emma gives her a room to help her out, it places Emma in the middle of the feud. Has Emma done the right thing?
With the addition of Widow Leonard, it seems that major changes are in the air all of a sudden. What will Emma do? What will happen in Hill House Inn?
