“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”--John 14:6
With those simple words Jesus of Nazareth set into motion a religion that has won converts and conquered nations for over 2000 years. But did Jesus actually say those words?
Did His many miracles happen the way that the Gospel writers describe them? Did Jesus really give the strict moral code that Christians labor under and rule by today?
The Bible says no.
In this controversial and groundbreaking new look at Jesus of Nazareth’s life
and ministry, Reverend Roy A. Teel Jr. takes his readers on a journey
through the New Testament Gospels and reveals conflicts and questions the
Bible itself poses about Jesus and His true message.
Was Jesus really born of a virgin?
What did Jesus do before His ministry?
Could Jesus have been married?
Did Jesus really do all those miracles?
Did Jesus really dictate that His followers “eat His flesh
and drink His blood”?
What really happened to Jesus at the Passion?
Did Jesus really rise from the dead?
The Way, the Truth, and the Lies cuts through these oft-repeated myths to reveal a remarkably human Jesus. It breaks down the walls that have separated believers from nonbelievers to show Jesus’ true message to humanity—a message so simple and so pure that He had to die for teaching it. The book is an inspiring look at the historic Jesus that will leave you hopeful and heartened...free of the guilt and separation imposed by centuries of biblical alterations, politically motivated rewrites, and a Gospel message crafted not by eyewitnesses (save one) but by master storytellers, scribes, and marketeers who weren’t even present during Jesus’ life and ministry.

From the Inside Flap
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me."
John 14:6 The Way, the Truth, and the Lies is a journey into Jesus’ ministry, His teachings—and what’s happened to His message in the 2000-plus years since He walked this Earth. Reverend Teel uncovers the contradictions, the conflicts, and the fabrications, then goes one step further and tells why what the church propagates as truth is nothing but a long-held system of MYTHS. The only reference material used for this book is the Bible. Gospel by Gospel you will look into the New Testament, comparing and contrasting the scriptures. Did Jesus really give the unending rules that Christianity imposes on society? Are entire cultures condemned to hell as "nonbelievers"? If not, how did these beliefs become so central to Christian teachings and heritage? Could it be that inaccuracies exist? Could it be that early church leaders had their own agendas and biases? Could it be that God’s basic message of love and acceptance was just too simple—and that historical realities required steps to complicate it? Could it be that the system of belief and thought that we call Christianity is nothing more than an elaborate myth? "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16 The two scriptures quoted are two of the most recognizable sayings in the world. But are they true? Today Christianity comes with a lot of rules, a lot of laws, a lot of absolutes. Yet one of the first assurances received from Jesus as He began his ministry on Earth was that He had come to free people from the law. So why then has modern Christianity become such a series of absolutes? Did Jesus really do all the miraculous things that the New Testament writers say He did? Did Jesus actually set in motion the rituals that are observed by almost every segment of Christianity? Did what the Christian church teaches about Jesus really happen? If not…how did we get to this place? The Way, the Truth, and the Lies reveals the answers to these questions for both Christians and non-Christians.

Provides hope for all seekers of truth
By Gary Ingram
To a Christian who is a true seeker, who really wants to know as to what Jesus taught his disciples, who values the teaching of Jesus as described in the Gospels, that is, in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and who is open minded to accept teachings that compare these works against each other, this book is an eye opener. To such a Christian, this book will help to dig deep into spiritual knowledge. The spiritual experience of such seeker would be on knowledge not on blind faith and belief. This book has the potential of dividing the fundamental Christians from other Christians in a big way. This book could create a new class of Christians who would be open minded, who would put their faith in the philosophical knowledge that Jesus imparted to his disciples. Such Christians would have less faith in a salvation that comes in believing in the person of Jesus, but in knowing and doing the things that Jesus taught.

Do you question your own faith by not believing the entire bible?
By Foxy-Vixen
Some will say that this makes a mockery of Jesus and Christians. I say it tells us that Jesus wants us to love our fellow man, that Jesus was/is indeed the son of God, and that we should love our God with all our heart(s). The thing that I believe disturbs some readers is that it questions some of the writings in the bible that contradict each other. This book has helped me strengthen my faith, not lessened it at all. I am a questioner about EVERYTHING. To see so many different stories, versions, teachings can be quite confusing and even disheartening. I have always loved the Lord and consider myself a Christian, in that I want to be more loving, non-judgmental, and really want to put my faith in the Lord rather than the teachings of man. To many I am probably a sinner to the nth degree, but that is okay by me because I still love (or really try my hardest to love), those that would think this. My take on Rev. Teel's book is, if you are a struggling Christian because you have a difficult time believing writings that were written by men that were not witnesses to what took place, if you wonder why some books are missing or are not included in the bible, or if you just can't wrap your head around the differences in "testimony" maybe this can help you straighten out some of your thoughts or views. Please don't just take mine or any other persons word about the bible, pray before you read and ask your Father to open your eyes and heart.

Refreshing Perspective on Faith
By Barbara Loftus
An intelligent critical analysis of the New Testament, particularly the four gospels. Gives thoughtful seekers the freedom to come to faith without having to abandon their intelligence. Author suggests it is not necessary to take every story in the gospels literally in order to learn the important lessons or to come to know Jesus as the Savior.
